Seal impression, cast in chrome, mounted on a black acrylic base 25x13 cm. 9.84x5.11' This penholder is decorated with a replica of an impression of a chalcedony cylinder seal, depicting the “Mistress of the Animals”. This winged goddess is often shown wearing a crown with horns, and holding two animals by their hind legs while standing on the backs of two larger animals. She probably represents the goddess Shala, wife of the Weather God. (Northern Mesopotamia, 1300-1200 B.C.E.).
