Composite floor mosaic with a bird and a grapevineThe Bible Lands Museum Jerusalem opened this special exhibition in celebration of Rosh Hashanah, Bottle with honeycomb patternthe Jewish New Year.
On display are artifacts representing the sources of honey in the Ancient Near East, dating from biblical times thorough the Islamic period.

Statue of BacchusSweet as Honey presents a collection of ancient art including frescos, mosaics, statues, seals, and coins that depict the sources of honey. The exhibition is enhanced with beautiful photographs and explanations in three languages.

Sweet as Honey includes recipes for a variety of dishes and sweets (all made with honey) as well as instructions on how to make your own fruit honey.

Date-Shaped BottleThe honey referred to in the Bible was made from various fruits: dates, grapes, figs and carobs, and was the pride of the Land of Israel. Bee honey was also consumed in ancient times, harvested from both wild sources and cultivated in hives
