Displaying a rich array of fantastic creatures of antiquity, this new exhibition explores the fascinating mythology and dramatic tales that surround composite

beasts of the ancient world - Griffins, Sirens, Sphinx, Tritons, Nereids, Centaurs, Cherubs, and others.

On view are masterpieces of ancient art, many never before exhibited in Israel. These artistically accomplished objects serve as an affirmation

of the positive cultural inter-relationships between the classical world and the civilizations of the Ancient Near East.

The themes and subjects include denizens of the earth, the sky and the sea, as well as depictions of cosmic combatants, capable of effectively challenging

the forces of evil or serving man as guardian, protective spirits.
