Birthday in The Museum

The Image of Abraham
The museum’s acclaimed co-existence project, Image of Abraham, bringing together Arab and Jewish school children, their teachers and their parents, is currently in its fifth year. Approximately 130 children, aged 9-10, from Rehavia’s Paula Ben-Gurion school and the “El-Tzal’a” school in East Jerusalem, are participating in this unique program.
Together the children explore their family tree to find the name “Abraham” or "Ibrahim", study the cultures of the Ancient Near East, and trace common elements in the Arab and Jewish heritage, including scripts, language, customs and faiths.
The project is supported by The Abraham Fund, private donations and by The Jerusalem Foundation, with the aim of encouraging co-existence between the Jewish and Arab citizens of Israel.
