Exclusive Bar / Bat Mitzvah programs

BLMJ's exclusive Bar Bat Mitzvah program offers a unique experience in the galleries of the museum:

1. Take a guided tour through the Museum highlighting the Parashat Hashavuah of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah.

2. Or, take one of our popular theme-guided tour such as:

  • Dungeons and Dragons which looks at the aspects of heroism and the image of the hero in ancient times.
  • Women and Beauty in the Ancient World centering on the image of the woman from various aspects including her standing in the various cultures and her powerful symbolism. Among the artifacts highlighted on this tour are the exquisite cosmetic dishes and tools and beautiful jewelry from Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt and Ancient Persia.
  • In the Footsteps of the Bible A look at the cultures surrounding The Land of Israel during the biblical period with an emphasis on their similarities and differences. What was the journey of Abraham like, what culture did he come from and what were the ideals that he carried with him. What was Egypt like at the time of Jacob and his sons? How did the First Temple look and what was Jerusalem like during the time of David and Solomon.
  • The Wonders of Ancient Egypt Discover the world of the Pharaohs, the mysteries and the intricate beliefs of the Ancient Egyptians. The museum’s collection of ancient Egyptian tomb finds and treasures illustrate the development of the culture through the millennia. This tour focuses on the periods of Egypt from the Pyramids to Ramsses II – and asks the question, was he the Pharaoh of the Exodus?
