The Book of Books

Published in conjunction with the special exhibition, The Book of Books opened at the Bible Lands Museum Jerusalem on October 23, 2013. This publication presents 17 articles each authored by a recognized expert in his or her field. Covering a wide range of topics from the Second Temple Period up to Modern day, the history of the Bible is examined including the canonization of both the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament, articles on important early manuscripts and writings, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and the Septuagint and up through the King James Bible. An article examining artistic expression through illuminated manuscripts and one on printing and its impact on the spread of the Bible make this a well rounded overview of 2,000 years of the Bible.
